Kuala Lumpur is a city full of stories, but how often do we actually stop and listen to them? The month-long KL Festival 2026 which kicks off in May, is giving us a chance to do just that, with a series of walking tours that explore the city from some really unique perspectives. We hear from two of the people behind those experiences, Jane Rai, founder of Free Walk Kuala Lumpur Unscripted, whose tours spotlight the people, history, and heritage of the city, and Bilqis Hijjas, director of Rimbun Dahan, who’s leading a walk in collaboration with the Free Tree Society called Secret Trees of KL, looking at the city through its hidden pockets of nature.
