Kuala Lumpur is a city shaped by movement and exchange, from its early days as a trading hub to the everyday rhythms of markets, streets and shared spaces today. That spirit sits at the heart of KL Festival 2026, a month-long celebration of arts and culture built around the theme of “Memory and Tomorrow.” Among the projects bringing that idea to life is Warung TERANG, which reimagines the "pasar" through light, projection and digital storytelling, transforming parts of downtown KL into a living, breathing canvas. We speak both to artist Abdul Shakir Abu Samah, co-founder of Filamen, and curator of this project, and also artist Fairuz Sulaiman, one of the participating artists working on the project.
