๐ Transport Minister Anthony Loke clarified that Zetrix AI owes the government RM314 million, accumulated between May 19, 2026, and September 30, 2026. Loke said the government will take appropriate legal action to recover the unremitted funds, adding that late interest charges and penalties will also be imposed under contractual obligations.
๐ The suspension of Zetrix AI will not affect the delivery of JPJ services to the public. The public is encouraged to use the MyJPJ mobile app, the JPJ public portal, and physical counters and kiosks to access JPJ services. Users who recently used MyEG services were also assured that their transactions were processed.
๐ On August 21, 2026, Zetrix AI submitted a post-dated cheque for RM231 million, the total debt at the time. However, the bank could not process the cheque when it was banked on September 30, 2026, due to stop-payment instructions issued by the company.
๐ Prior to the suspension, the Transport Ministry and JPJ held four engagement sessions since May 2026 and issued 35 warning notices.
๐ The suspension will remain in place until the entire amount has been settled. The Transport Minister added that the government may consider resuming Zetrix AI's services after the company returns the full amount, with stricter conditions imposed, such as directly crediting payment to the government's account after each transaction.
